Odd One Out

Always the odd one out

when it came to finding love

never was the one

looked kindly on from above.

Fallen flat on my face

too many times to remember

then left with my arms in the air

begging to surrender.

Searched high and low

for the perfect partner

only to be left again

as another of love’s martyrs.

Starting to wonder about

what I am doing wrong

and whether the answer

might be found in a simple love song,

Maybe then I might

find a solution

and meet someone

with the same attributions.
