Sense of Humour

God must have a wicked

sense of humour

he had people believing this virus

was just a rumour.

They said it would disappear

once the weather got warm

and only a minuscule amount

would come to any harm.

Now they are turning on each other

and trying to apportion the blame

as if what is happening is just

a part of a children’s game.

The one thing we do know now

is no one has the answer

for this pandemic sweeping the globe

like a malignant cancer.
