Monotony

It’s time to get up and

continue with this charade,

to put on my mask and

watch this life slowly fade.

I have tried my best but

now I must admit defeat,

Every day is a new

obstacle I must greet.

When I am asleep,

I can find my special place,

where everyone I see

has a happy smiling face.

There is no reason

for anyone to frown

because nobody here knows

what it’s like to feel down.

Not like this world where

everything is a fight

from when I rise in the morning

until I go to sleep at night.

The never- ending

monotony of living

a life that now

seems unforgiving.
