corner against the wall,
blown from a tree that
no longer seems so tall.
A dog lazily raises his
leg against the trunk
to relieve himself of all the
puddles that he has drunk.
A couple walk arm in arm
towards the midday sun
as children in the playground
scream out from fun.
An elderly man sits
alone on a bench feeding
crumbs to the birds,
while a young woman
on her phone passes by
not caring if she is heard.
Office workers sit together
to have their lunches,
they observe their more
enthusiastic colleagues
exercise by doing lunges.
The slight murmur of traffic
can be heard in the distance,
away from the park
and its passive existence.
