Drawing a Blank

My inspiration has ended

up on rocky ground

while my imagination

cannot be found.

Instead my mind

is drawing a blank,

held prisoner and being

forced to walk the plank.

I am looking for signs

which may lead to my escape,

searching hard for

any encouraging landscape

where I can let

my thoughts run free

and I can find the person

I always wanted to be.
