I never asked to be this way,
to grow old with a mind in decay.
A body that barely works,
unable to enjoy any of life’s perks.
When I was younger
I never thought of getting old,
now it has crept up on me
and my future has already been sold.
Life has passed me by
leaving me here alone to sigh,
regretting things that I’ve done
and wishing I had more fun.

Regret is sometimes the worst feeling. Loved the depth of the poem.
