Crushing walls

She sat there all alone with walls around her made of cold, hard stone

People have tried to climb them, but they gave up and walked away

Because the girl kept building her walls higher and higher every day

She couldn’t see the sunset or feel a cold, fresh breeze

She couldn’t take a walk at the beach or travel overseas

She couldn’t be comforted when she cried her eyes out

Her head was full of loneliness and her heart full of doubt

Then she realised no one was hurting her feelings or her tender skin

But the walls she built herself were crushing her from within

I made the painting and poem myself

  1. Powerful poem. Your drawing is appropriate and looks good.
