The view is not enhanced
by the large grey pylons,
whose wires extend for miles
like long threads of nylon.
Many years ago,
there was nothing but fields,
but progress arrived
and destruction it did wield.
An industrial landscape
stares back at you,
its own existence
now disappearing too.
Jobs that were promised
are now obsolete,
like the fields replaced
that were once full of wheat.
A sprawling concrete scar
on a once pristine surface,
left to crumble and rot,
no longer fit for purpose.
The day will come
when it has all being erased,
but it will be too late
for nature has being defaced.

Beautifully portrayed. I loved these lines-
“A sprawling concrete scar
on a once pristine surface,”
Good job 👍
