Shades

I think we wear
so many shades
From time to time

Red shades
For we see people rise and set like sun
And how we let them

Blue shades
For we love the sky
As it makes us feel safe and alive

Green shades
For they let us see serene grass fields
beyond the mountains of uncertainty

Dark shades
To replicate
the darkness within

Black shades
to hide from
ourselves

And so it goes
Purple, orange and yellow

We have so many shades
for each incidence
and weakness
To cover up our pretense
To give us excuses
The next time
You wear one of them
Be aware to not get lost
into them

  1. It made me think of Joseph and the coat of many colours. We all need some colour in our lives.

Well I haven’t seen it. πŸ˜… Yes we do need Colors in life, but the true Color of life is colourless. You see everything as it is without any prejudice of any kind.

Yes these colours can be fascinating and pretty misleading but think it’s a necessity in this worldly life….isn’t it Kartik?

Well, I think we don’t need them. These are temporary situations in which we, by wearing these shades try to hide our weakness. As in we try to see things the way we want and not the way they are. This simply means, we are not accepting what is but, what we want the outside to be. The reality that we see through our eyes is just a pinch of the life that is happening right this moment. Extraordinary is the ordinary seen through clear eyes.

  7. The shadow provides respite from the heat of the sun, but that is not to say one should spent the rest of their days there.

Exactly, not getting attached is the key. Once we get attached, we start relating ourselves with that thing only. Everything we do becomes the end product of what we are attached to. From people to places to habits to things. Dependence is the worst kind of living. But somehow we are lost to it. Who are not dependent, are free from these shadows, they don’t need any light or dark. What scares me is, I am still dependent on so many things.
