Palace of smoke

Smoky arms reach for the night,
I kissed them there ;I should know.
My silent screams
that don’t echo naturally
but build in my lungs

Those burning dreams
That palace of smoke

That palace of smoke
which I carry inside.
It’s not something I’ve built
so much as ruins left behind.

It burns in my throat
It hums in my veins
I’m somehow trapped inside
the smoke has woven chains.

Chains I’ve got to mouth away
When I mostly breath about you.
I still can’t tap the ash though
Not all beggars are yet pros.

  2. You just got scary to me. For someone who’s trying to put down a hunted feeling, I sure am bad at it.
That said, I could definitely stand to finally be caught.
