call me anything but not Stupid!

I was short
I was ugly
I was an awkward child
I had a big
cherry sized mole
on my swollen nose
wherever I went
a crowd followed
because
people were amused

my appearance
evoked laughter in them
that I could never understand
I cried to my mom
but she snapped me harsh
‘perhaps god was engrossed
that he forgot you in his thoughts’
I slowly began to understand
life was cruel to me
If I have to survive
I will have to laugh

I picked up a costume
drew an extended grin
and painted my face in green
went up on the stage
and shook my head
the crowd looked puzzled
and showed no signs
of cheer
bemused by their looks
I tripped and fell
they cheered and applauded
when my knees and back hurt
wow! they exclaimed
my silly acts were resplendent
I fell again and again
to listen to their claps
that hall of fame
kept me going
forgetting the shame
and boosting my ego
I understood
that
the world laughs
when I fall

I am a joker
I have a name
call me anything
but not
STUPID!

  5. I never understood why we judge each other with looks or outer personality🤷‍♀️
You wrote it beautifully and its perfectly said that when we laugh, people laugh with us but when we cry, no one would there to wipe our tears🙍‍♀️

  10. Sync with deep. Please email me at kalliope@ modernmysticmother. com
Because the synchronicity of your words on the screen and my life behind it are terrifyingly resonant. Reflective, refracted, distorted, reformatted… please do so. I would probably forget though if you asked the same of me to take the first step though..
