Who I Gave My Heart To

I don’t think you know how I feel when I talk about you,

I’m in a place where I’m not allowed to,

I actually rarely do,

maybe just one time or two,

they think our love is a taboo,

but in both times I did do,

the depth of my love showed through,

they asked me the same question “Who?”

I told them, “a person who when I trip, would always come to my rescue,

he was there for me whenever I was feeling blue.”

They said, “How can you trust so easily? Not all men stay true.”

At this, I laughed my heart out, and replied, “If only you knew,

but sadly you do not do,

my heart and his are stuck with glue,

actually no, we are rather like a bolt and a screw,

we fit together so perfectly, lovers like us are so few,

So pardon me my dears, but that’s your point of view,

it’s not my fault you had no one love you,

but I know he wouldn’t play my heart,

the time to trust him is long overdue.”

      1. Haha omg I’m sorry. I tend to just.. write exactly as I think or speak… lol. The voices or tone that i use.. it’s entirely dependent upon context. Lol
It’s really weird reading my words back to me because I’m then like ” WTF?” But contextually… Your poem reminded me of another poem that was written for/to me. Thus the “rivethead” reference.

      2. you are spontaneous and speak from the heart. I don’t think there is anything wrong about that. Quite the contrary, you tend to spice things up when people chat you up. ☺️

      3. Thank you. That means a very great deal to me… In real life, I tend to just frustrate people. I am divisive and… it’s awfully lonely “being stuck in the middle”. I really appreciate your kind kind words. Thank you. *blush* I feel like such a dork now. lol

      11. I’m sure I’ll figure out some sort of rhythm eventually. Everything is so up in the air, it’s sometimes confronting to remember I only signed on to instagram a month ago. I started blogging in August. I dunno what I’m doing except “blahing” my “blahs”, and my breath is not the bestest.

      13. YUP! WEEEEEEEE. It’s quite fun just doing my thing, but incredibly… I can’t even put it into words… but, it’s just really infuriating and completely ungracious to be told what to do like I’m some sort of wee chick newly hatched in some quarantined incubator. Pfft. Thanks Zena 🙂
