Quiet

Mums the magic word
Don’t not make a sound
Thoughts spiraling to absurd
Beginning to confound

A weary deadbolt on a door
Tightly closed to keep me safe
Keeps intruders from my core
Anxiety, a shirt that chafes

Body like a newborn calf
Clumsily tripping over air
Spilling this, dropping that
Wanting to hide from the bear

I clumsily woke him up

  1. The more careful you are the more noise you seem to make!
