Treat your taste buds with these simple yummy recipes . These recipes come handy to meet your hunger (or) when your tummy rumbles because of the hostel food (or) when you are left alone in the house (or) while watching movies ….
1. Sandwich–
- Bread
- Onion , carrot , tomatoes (chopped)
- Curd
- Black pepper and salt to taste
Mix the vegetables and curd . Add a bit of pepper and salt . Spread the mixture in between two slices of bread . You can even toast the bread if needed . Enjoy the sandwich .
2. Healthy Sprouts –
- Sprouted beans
- Onions , tomatoes ,chillies , coriander, cucumber (chopped)
- Lemon juice and salt to taste
Mix everything in a bowl and have a healthy meal .
3. Veggie rolls –
- Left-over chappatis
- Mayonnaise / green chutney / tomato sauce
- Boiled potatoes , onion , chillies, coriander, tomatoes (chopped)
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and spread it over the chappati . Now carefully roll the chappathi and cut in the centre into two pieces . Now all you have to do is to enjoy the veggie roll .
4. Sugary flattened rice –
- Beaten rice
- Coconut
- Sugar
- Milk
One of the easiest dessert to make in no time . Take the beaten rice in a bowl and add milk in it . Now add sugar and grated coconut to it. gently mix the content . And it’s ready to be served.
5. Banana and basil treat –
- 2 bananas
- A handful of basil leaves
- chillies
- oil
Heat the pan and add 2 table spoon of oil to it . Add chopped chillies to it . Slice the bananas into small circular pieces and add to it . Saute for 3 minutes. Add the basil leaves to it . Saute it again for 2 minutes and leave it for 5 minutes on low flame. Turn off the flame and serve hot.
6. Pasta salad –
- Boiled pasta ( you can boil it in kettle if you don’t have stove )
- Curd
- Garlic (crushed)
- Pepper
- onion , tomato , capsicum (chopped)
- salt to taste
- olives (if available)
Take curd , crushed garlic ,pepper and salt in a bowl . Mix it well. Add the chopped vegetables to it . Finally , add the boiled pasta to it and mix gently. And its ready. You can add olives, oregano and chilli flakes if available.
7. Garlic bread –
- Garlic
- Bread
- Butter
Take slices of bread and put butter . Take the chopped garlic and sprinkle them over the bread and fry them . Let it cool and then serve.
8. Easy chocolate cake –
- 4 bars of your favourite chocolate
- butter
- 2 eggs
- all purpose flour
Take the chocolate bars and grate them . Take the grated chocolate and butter in a bowl and melt them . Whisk the eggs and add . Add flour and mix until it becomes a gooey batter. Pour the batter into a container and bake the mixture on 300 degree for 15 minutes.
9. Spicy Corn –
- Corn
- Salt
- Coriander
- Lemon
Take the corn , bake it and then season it . Its that simple . It gives a better company while watching movies or when our tummy rumbles . Anyway it has been our all time favourite since childhood .
10. Oil-free banana chips –
- 3 bananas
- lemon juice
- Chilli powder
- Salt to taste
Slice the bananas into circular pieces . Take the slices and dip them in lemon juice and arrange them in a tray . Sprinkle chilly powder and salt over it . Bake it on 350 degree for 30 minutes.
